Masks in the age of COVID-19 – we all hear that those who care about others should wear them. To not do so is “selfish” and “unloving.” But there is another side to the story: those who don’t wear masks are not necessarily doing so out of such motivations, and actually many refrain from masks precisely because they are being unselfish and loving.

To not wear a mask in public is putting a target on your back. Doesn’t sound too selfish or unloving — especially when motivated by trying to inspire others to stop wearing masks for the dangers that they pose. It would be easier to just go with the flow.

The test of whether any matter is moral or loving is not to be found in manipulative slogans and assertions spewed from tyrants, the corrupt medical system, or the God-hating media, but Scripture, which equips man “unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:17b). Here we will explore, from a biblical perspective, why the use of masks as a normal way of life should be opposed.

First, however, we want to make some careful points and distinctions:

  • We are opposing masks in our current context – we are not saying masks are never warranted.
  • Sometimes one has to wear a mask to prevent a greater health risk, such as from smoke or poison gas. Moreover, doctors understandably wear them to keep their facial bodily fluids from infecting an open wound of a patient they are treating. (But note: shopping at a store differs from doing open heart surgery.)
  • Even in our current context, some who oppose masks may feel the need to wear them in certain hard situations. For instance, some women might wear them as a means of self-defense; to protect themselves from rabid pro-mask fascists in public. And others who need medical treatment may wear them because they are required to enter a hospital. We understand that some situations are difficult. Let each be convinced in his own mind how to best please God in such scenarios. But it’s important to avoid the mask as much as possible.
  • We realize there are many who still sincerely support the use of masks. Not everyone changes their views at the same time. If you support masks, we recommend this article, as well the one here, for consideration.

This article critiques the use of masks in our current context for the following reasons:

  • The mask violates God’s natural order
  • The mask causes physical harm
  • The mask assaults social interactions and development
  • The mask “legitimizes” a lie
  • The mask promotes subversion of the social order and the subjugation of man
  • The mask sows discord
  • The mask was not mandated in Israel’s civil code

We also discuss the topic “On businesses and mask requirements.”

The mask violates God’s natural order

God did not create man with a barrier to breathing oxygen, as the mask does; and He did not intend for man to inhale his own waste (carbon dioxide), which the mask causes.

Moreover, God gave people distinct faces for a reason. But the regular use of masks blur the distinctions, assaulting our uniqueness.

God is the all-wise Creator of all things, and therefore has a good reason for designing things the way they are. God made all things good, in wisdom (Genesis 1:31, Psalm 104:24, 139:14).

Naturally, Scripture does not speak fondly of attempts to change God’s natural order (see, for instance, Romans 1:26, 27 and 1 Corinthians 11:13-15).

In the case of masks, we have already noted in the intro that there are some situations where one sometimes has to wear a mask to prevent a greater health risk, such as from smoke or poison gas. In this case, the unnatural must be used to fight a greater unnatural (a more severe health risk).

But this is a far cry from using masks arbitrarily, unnecessarily, and disproportionately; if masks must be used in certain rare occasions, that is a major difference from using them whenever. The unnatural must be avoided as much as possible — and not to be a normal way of life.

Thus, as part of the “new normal,” the imposed, regular use of masks is an attempt to overturn God’s natural order. Such unnaturalness will naturally have consequences: health consequences, social consequences, and societal consequences (as discussed below).

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (Matthew 7:18)

The mask causes physical harm

The mask is a form of suffocation and strangulation — subtle for some, not so subtle for others,
such as young children

Excepting biblically lawful capital punishment, self-defense, defending others, and just war, Scripture forbids harming people – whether it be injuring (Lev. 24:19, 20; Ezekiel 18:18, Luke 10:30-37) or killing. These are violations of the Sixth Commandment: “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13), which requires us to preserve – not to take – life and limb.

Do masks harm people? Well, considering God’s natural created order, it is a given that a mask that covers the nose and mouth is unhealthy. With our need for oxygen and our need to release carbon dioxide, the hazards of the mask – which impede these things — become self-evident.

An analogy might be with food. Both oxygen and food are necessary for life. Imagine if someone’s digestion of food was impeded. We would expect health problems to result. How much more might we expect this regarding the inhalation of oxygen, which is even more crucial for life?

Moreover, the inhalation of carbon dioxide – which masks cause – is an inhalation of waste that God designed our body to eliminate. Thus, wearing masks causes us to inhale toxic air; like eating poisoned food. (See the video here about a device showing that masks cause toxic air quality.)

It follows, then, that masks are unhealthy. The more they are used, the more dangerous they become (e.g., passing out while driving). And their dangers are heightened with increased physical activity (running can kill you) and wearing in the heat.

The suppression of oxygen caused by masks suppresses the immune system – creating the potential for countless health problems; not only regarding catching and spreading COVID-19 itself, but much more serious problems. So the sky is the limit as far as their potential to harm. Even more so on the vulnerable, such as the elderly, children, the immunocompromised, and those with health challenges such as heart and lung problems.

Some more immediate problems that one may get from the mask may be headaches, chest pains, and fainting. Some problems may manifest more over time with continual use. Could we see, for instance, a radical increase in cancer, since cancer has been linked to oxygen deprivation? Or, what about brain damage, since masks decrease the flow of oxygen to the brain? Will average intelligence drastically decrease – making mankind more docile and controllable?

How perverse is our thinking now; starving someone of food is rightfully recognized as bad, but today, starving someone of oxygen — more fundamental to life than food — is considered a virtue.

And indeed, how perverse and godless is a society that sanctions respiratory rape? Because what else would you call the act of suppressing one’s breathing with the use of violence, or the threat of violence, by the hands of the police and civil authorities?

See a more thorough discussion on the dangers of masks here.

The mask assaults social interactions and development

In God’s created order, He made man a social being. He spoke with Adam. He created Eve as a helper for Adam. He made them to have offspring to raise (Genesis 1, 2). From there emerged neighbors and communities for mutual support and the administration of justice.

The church is a social community of God’s redeemed people. God speaks to them through His word, and they to God through prayer. Those in the church fellowship with one another. The duty of the church to evangelize the world is a social duty.

It is in the process of socializing that wise counselors are found (Proverbs 11:14, 15:22), and opportunities to mirror God’s love by loving one’s neighbor.

In light of all of this, imagine all the social and developmental calamities that come when everyone wears masks.

Masks foster a cold atmosphere where relationships are inhibited. Indeed, who wants to talk to someone with a mask? You can’t hear him, and absent facial expressions, it’s like talking to a wall.

Physically, the face is the most “human” part of a person. With most of one’s face covered, that person’s humanity is visually reduced. Surely this influences how we interact with others, view others, and how we see the world. If you can’t see someone’s facial expressions, then it’s hard to tell if he is friend or foe. Moreover, individuality is suppressed, making everyone seem like robots. People might seem less like being created in God’s image and endowed with inalienable rights – and more like beasts for subjugation.

The mask makes the world seem darker. In a world where faces are covered, so are smiles. No one appears happy. A formula for depression, despair, and nihilism.

In light of this, the psychological damage due to masks must be considerable — especially to children who are experiencing a masked world in their formative years. One person on Facebook wrote:

I noted recently that little kids are always so happy to see me…they are waving and smiling, just random kids at the store, at my job. It just hit me yesterday…Mine is the only smile that kid may see that day, the only FACE that child may see that day. Take them off…for the CHILDREN!! … ENOUGH!!!

One article notes,

Smiles are the first building blocks of warm, loving and responsive relationships.

These relationships are crucial for your baby’s development. Through these relationships, babies and children learn how to think, understand, communicate and show emotions. In fact, giving and receiving smiles are the first steps your child takes in learning how to be social and have good relationships.

Smiling at your baby is great for your early relationship with your baby. It fosters bonding and attachment, and it helps your baby feel secure and safe.

Also, when your baby gets lots of smiles, it tells your baby a lot about her world – that it’s a safe, secure place where people are happy, friendly and respond to her needs.

Eric Savitz’s article, “The Untapped Power Of Smiling,” is a fascinating read about the power of smiles, and their implications for health (although we of course reject its absurd promotion of evolution). Here are some of its interesting comments:

Even more surprising was a 2010 Wayne State University research project that examined the baseball cards photos of Major League players in 1952. The study found that the span of a player’s smile could actually predict the span of his life! Players who didn’t smile in their pictures lived an average of only 72.9 years, while players with beaming smiles lived an average of 79.9 years.

Eric Savitz, “The Untapped Power Of Smiling” (Mar 22, 2011, Forbes.com). Retrieved September 8, 2020, from https://www.forbes.com/sites/ericsavitz/2011/03/22/the-untapped-power-of-smiling/

The piece later notes,

So now we know that:
When you smile, you look good and feel good.
When others see you smile, they smile too.
When others smile, they look good and feel good, too. (Ibid.)

When it comes to Christian assemblies, masks muffle God’s praise in corporate worship, and hinder social interaction between Christians. And when it comes to the personal Christian life, surely prayer might be hindered when oxygen to the brain is suppressed.

So, as we can see, both giving and receiving smiles are necessary for our development and psychological well-being; and, it seems, even our physical health. The regular use of masks prevent us from seeing smiles, and train us not to give them. They impair healthy social interactions, and the Christian life in particular. They are an assault on God’s design of man as a social being — the desocialization of man with all of its attendant evils.

The mask “legitimizes” a lie

credit (image cropped)

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;” (Ephesians 4:14)

We are neither to promote lies, nor embrace them. The COVID-19 narrative is permeated by lies and deception.

  • Testing can be very unreliable, producing false positives. The president of Tanzania found that even a goat and papaya tested positive for COVID-19.
  • The data is deliberately and obviously skewed to make us think we are dealing with something approaching the Black Death or the Holocaust.
  • People who obviously die from something besides COVID-19 are said to have nevertheless died from it. Even if the testing was reliable (it’s not), there is no distinction between dying “with” or “from” COVID-19.
  • There are economic incentives to diagnose someone with COVID-19.
  • A great many people who are said to have died from COVID-19 were probably killed by the treatments, including from ventilators.
  • And on and on. Read more about these points here.

Those who question the narrative are silenced. The reason is obvious: liars don’t want their lies questioned and exposed. They fear open discussion and debate, where the truth can emerge.

And so, regarding lies, what does the donning of the mask do?

  • It “legitimizes” the mountain of lies backing the COVID-19 hysteria; it broadcasts to others that we are dealing with a super plague that kills people left and right.
  • It also “legitimizes” the lie that masks are safe; when it is quite obvious – via considering God’s natural order, experience, and science – that they are not.
  • Moreover, it also “legitimizes” the lie that the mass use of masks effectively fight viruses – even though earlier in the scamdemic we were told they aren’t! (Quite a coincidence that science changed during the course of the scamdemic.)

The mask promotes subversion of the social order and the subjugation of man

As previously noted, the mask “legitimizes” the COVID-19 narrative. As such, it is a tool of subversion of the social order, and the subjugation of man.

Since the lockdown, laws have been implemented that are outright tyrannical and oppressive; such laws are treasonous. They undermine our Constitutional order, and, more importantly, they oppose the law of God. It is a flagrant overthrow of American government as we once knew it.

Governing officials and law enforcement officers enforcing this tyranny are in violation of their oaths to uphold the Constitution — and are in rebellion against King Jesus.

Just as David opposed the treason of Absalom, so should ruling authorities who are just oppose the Corona Fascists. They should apply the biblical doctrine of interposition.

The mask is a symbol of subjection to, and promotion of, the totalitarian regime. It endorses all of the current and planned tyranny in the name of the false COVID-19 narrative, including

  • keeping people from providing for their families.
  • the persecution of the church.
  • total government domination of society.
  • controlling and tracking of our movements.
  • the destruction of economies and mass starvation.
  • the banning of normal oxygen intake.
  • vaccine genocide, and possibly other forms of genocide.
  • the outright dehumanization of mankind and all the evil that attends this.

The widespread use of the mask also endangers those without masks. While, as we noted, the mask is a symbol of subjection to, and promotion of, the totalitarian regime, not wearing a mask is viewed by the tyrants and many fanatics as a symbol of defiance and thus analogous to wearing a yellow star (as the Nazis made the Jews wear prior to murdering them).

Thus, when a large number of people wear masks, those who do not wear them are marked as “enemies of the state” — and who knows what may happen to them in time at the hands of the tyrants. (Just one example here.)

Scripture does not speak fondly of oppressors:

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. (Proverbs 29:2)

As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people. (Proverbs 28:15)

Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless! (Isaiah 10:1, 2)

Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. (Isaiah 1:23)

Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. (Ezekiel 22:27)

During the Nazi occupation of Holland, Corrie Ten Boom’s father, Casper ten Boom, said that if everyone wore a yellow star, then the Jews could not be singled out; thus, he wore one.

Likewise, if enough people stop wearing masks, then its harder for those without them to be singled out for persecution, and our escalating totalitarianism — against those with and without masks alike — will probably grind to a halt (since totalitarianism requires mass compliance to succeed).

The mask sows discord

Masks sow discord. Many have become rabid with disease hysteria, verbally or physically assaulting those without masks. (Not to say that there aren’t those without masks acting inappropriately themselves.) And all this hysteria based on lies. People without masks in public are viewed as enemies of society.

There is no level of human relationships that such discord does not affect. Friends and families are no doubt dividing over this issue. Masks are also a source of discord in the church. Some churches push people away from worshiping God by mandating masks.

Jettison the mask, and the source of discord ends.

The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with. (Proverbs 17:14)

The mask was not required in Israel’s civil code

“Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

“Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

“For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?” (Deuteronomy 4:5-8)

No civil code has been — or ever will be — superior to the civil code that God gave Israel. It came from the infinitely perfect wisdom of God, instead of the fallible, sin-tainted wisdom of man.

Now, if the state should require everyone to wear masks to contain an outbreak, one would think that something so vast and intrusive would be mentioned as part of Israel’s civil code (and even if it did, we are currently dealing with, by contrast, a highly exaggerated pandemic). It’s not as if Israel didn’t have the capability of producing masks in those days.

Israel did have quarantine laws for dealing with leprosy (Leviticus 13 and 14). For one to be quarantined, one must first be tested; and then, only quarantined if he has leprosy, or is suspected.

But it would be hard to extend this to requiring the mass use of masks. Besides the fact that the use of masks is conspicuously absent in the leprosy laws, note that

  • these laws apply to those having leprosy, or those suspected — not the entire nation
  • the means of testing was reliable, unlike the means of testing for COVID-19
  • this is leprosy — not an over-hyped virus.

On businesses and mask requirements

Much is said about businesses having the right to require customers to wear masks. Some might argue that, even if the requirement by the state to wear masks is unlawful (as this kind of health enforcement, so-called, is outside the state’s lawful jurisdiction), the requirement of masks by businesses is lawful.

The argument might go something like this: “Per our God-given property rights, we can lawfully decide whom we do business with. Even if we have no moral right to exclude people in some situations from doing business (such as racial discrimination), we always have a legal right to do so.”

In other words, in this view, the motives for excluding someone from business may or may not be immoral; but civil government has no right to coerce someone into selling his private property.

The validity of this particular argument is beyond the scope of the discussion here, but even if we grant it, it doesn’t mean businesses have a right to sell anything they want (or, by implication, make any conditions they want for selling, such as requiring masks).

In short, there is a difference between being forced to do business with someone, and being allowed to sell/promote anything with impunity. Absolute freedom of whom to sell to differs from absolute freedom of what to sell. If, for argument sake, you can lawfully refuse someone business, you cannot lawfully offer poison under the pretense of health. Harming people (in this case customers) is Criminal Behavior 101.

  • Masks cause harm, and there is criminal liability for causing harm (Exodus 21:28-36; 22:6; Deuteronomy 22:8). It’s not as if masks here are given to customers for their safety from a provable and obvious greater harm, like smoke from a fire; they are given for “protection” from an over-hyped virus.
  • Secondly, masks are being misrepresented by businesses; they are explicitly or implicitly required in the name of health and stopping the spread of COVID-19. Customers are not being told that wearing masks were once discouraged from the same “authorities” who now encourage them, are unhealthy, and could actually be promoting the spread of COVID-19. This violates the principal of equal weights and measures — you should not make misrepresentations of your product (or condition to buy a product, in this case). You cannot defraud your customers (in this case, of their health); it is a criminal act:

“Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small. Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small. But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” (Deuteronomy 25:13-15)
  • We are dealing with the outright subversion of the social order – treason. As a conditioning tool and symbol of the new godless order, the mask is a primary means of the global Marxist/Corporate Fascist/Orwellian/Depopulation takeover – the subjugation of man, and the blasphemous (but futile) attempt to dethrone God. If civil authorities would be doing their job, they would, as they would for any kind of treasonous takeover, suppress the widespread use of the mask – including by restraining businesses from requiring them. Sadly, civil authorities are instead encouraging the takeover by requiring masks.

Some other points for consideration:

  • Do these mask mandates have more to do with the rights of businesses in relation to the customer, or the customer and business in relation to the state? Businesses as a whole would not even require masks if not for the intimidation of the state. Business owners that do not comply with the mask mandates could be punished by the state, either directly, or indirectly via lawsuits by customers.
  • Let’s keep in mind that many businesses officially require masks, and yet at the same time are willing to do business with customers who do not comply. In such cases, these “mandates” are really suggestions, since when push comes to shove, they would rather get their customers’ money than turn them away.

Let me, of course, be clear: if a business is really serious about a mask mandate and refuses me service, then I can’t (and shouldn’t) personally try to physically force it to do so. But this does not mean that the business has a legal or moral right to require the mask in our current context.

Conclusion

The requirements to wear masks as a normal way of life under the COVID-19 pretext are clearly unbiblical. They violate God’s natural order – the fruit of which is physical harm, social chaos, the assault on truth, treason, strife, and the subjugation of man — including the increasing persecution of the church.

There is no sense of proportion in such mandates. They fail to count the cost (cf. Luke 14:28-32). Enforcing such mandates fall under the Bible’s condemnation of doing evil that good may come (Romans 3:8) – or, could it be worse — doing evil that evil that come? Based on what we’ve discussed, it’s hard to think that those behind these mandates at the highest levels (such as Bill Gates) have mankind’s welfare in mind.

What we are really dealing with here is not “simply a mask,” but a perverse, murderous, subversive Mask Death Cult spawned from hell: “Join us, or face the consequences.”

Time to exit the cult. Love God, and your neighbor: take off the mask, and fight oppression. If you wait for permission, you may never get it, as this is part of the “new normal.”

Only when enough people remove the mask will the government be pressured to end the mandates. Expect this to stop by the initiation of the people — not the government. Christians, being salt and light, have a moral duty to lead the way.
